Hey Week
‘Hey Week’ is held during the first few weeks of school to welcome freshmen students to the Academy. Each classification hosts a special activity for the incoming students throughout the week culminating in the Big Sister/Little Sister Picnic. It is a time for ninth graders to become a part of the Loretto Sisterhood.
Class Retreats
Class retreats allow the students to come together by class to bond and develop spirituality. It is a meaningful respite for students and their sponsors. The final ‘Senior Retreat’ is a very special time for the seniors to unite and spend a few days together to reflect and prepare for their future once they leave Loretto.
Spirit Week
Spirit Week is a time for the four classifications to unite and show the spirit and character of their respective class. One of the most memorable events of the year is ‘Field Day’ which takes place during this week and highlights students’ creativity and competitiveness.
Holiday Decorations
Individual homerooms celebrate various holidays by decorating pumpkins for Halloween and doors for Christmas giving students an opportunity to display their creativity and artistic skills.
Shout Week
Students Helping OUT Week is a fun week of activities dedicated to raise money for worthy causes. Previous funds have been raised for our sister school in Pakistan, ‘Clean Water for the World’, St. Michael’s School and various local nonprofits. Blood Drives are also hosted during this week as another form of community involvement and support.
Ring Rose
Ring Rose is a cherished traditional ceremony where the seniors pass the torch of leadership to the juniors before they graduate. The seniors give the juniors their class ring and the juniors give the seniors a yellow rose symbolizing lasting friendship. All the other classes ceremonially move up a classification.
Senior-Alumna Luncheon
This tradition is where an alumna is paired with a senior and they induct them into the alumnae life. Each year a distinguished alumna is chosen as a keynote speaker to inspire the young women to take on the world. Alumnae pin an angel on the seniors to remind them they are never alone in the world and they have a support system of alumnae to help them.
With your support, we can continue educating young leaders, make our school more inclusive with the addition of an elevator, support more students with tuition assistance, retain and attract highly-qualified educators, and maintain and improve our school grounds.
