AVID
Middle school students at Loretto Academy participate in AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination), a college and career readiness program that helps students develop critical thinking, organizational, and study skills. AVID empowers students to take ownership of their learning through focused note-taking, inquiry-based learning, and collaborative study groups. The program fosters a growth mindset, preparing students for success in high school, college, and future careers.
Our goal is to provide students with the tools and confidence they need to excel academically and grow into compassionate, responsible leaders.
Leadership
Loretto’s middle school students have numerous opportunities to develop their leadership skills, plan events, and collaborate to execute a common vision. Through participation in extracurricular activities, students learn responsibility, teamwork, and decision-making. Current leadership opportunities include:
- National Junior Honor Society
- Student Council
- Robotics (with high school)
- Science Fair competition (7th and 8th)
- Speech and Debate competition
- Spelling Bee competition
- Sports
- Yearbook
Athletics
Loretto’s middle school athletic program focuses on fostering physical, social, and emotional growth while helping student-athletes develop skills based on their interests. Through participation in sports, students build self-discipline, motivation, and teamwork while learning the values of loyalty, cooperation, and sportsmanship.
Middle school students can participate in the following sports:

With your help, we can continue educating young leaders, support more students with tuition assistance, retain and attract highly-qualified educators, and maintain and update our school grounds. We are currently working to update our HVAC system in the gym and middle/high school building.
